Using Bangla(Unicode) In Oracle Database.

SQL> conn /as sysdba
Connected.
SQL>
SQL>
SQL> SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.
SQL> STARTUP RESTRICT;
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  778387456 bytes
Fixed Size                  1374808 bytes
Variable Size             402654632 bytes
Database Buffers          369098752 bytes
Redo Buffers                5259264 bytes
Database mounted.
Database opened.

SQL> ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET AL32UTF8;

Database altered.

SQL> SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.
SQL> STARTUP;
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  778387456 bytes
Fixed Size                  1374808 bytes
Variable Size             402654632 bytes
Database Buffers          369098752 bytes
Redo Buffers                5259264 bytes
Database mounted.
Database opened.

Now Check Using Bangla Using Toad 10.5 and  Avro Bangla keyboard.

    Dear ,

    I am currently working for an application inOracle Forms & Reports 11g R1.
    Database oracle 11g G1
    Operating system RHEL 6.5

    Specs require input to be in Bengali Unicode.
    Problem is :
    WHEN I RUN THE APPLICATION, IT SHOWS SQUARE BOXES ONLY AND THE TEXT ITEMS (WHEN I INPUT IN BENGALI) SHOWS ???????????

    Please, anybody, can u help ??

    If show error ORA-12712: new character set must be a superset of old character set
    Then Try SQL> ALTER DATABASE CHARACTER SET INTERNAL_USE AL32UTF8;

    I am facing a problem for Oracle Developer 10g.
    I am trying to inserting ০, ১, ২, ... as numeric.
    But Oracle does not recognized ০, ১, ২, ... as numeric,
    it only recognized as character.
