From 11g version Oracle introduce case sensitive password. This can avoid by setting sec_case_sensitive_logon parameter false.
SQL> grant connect, resource to TEST identified by TEST;
Grant succeeded.
SQL> conn test/test;
ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.
SQL> conn /as sysdba
Connected.
SQL> show parameter sec_case_sen
NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
sec_case_sensitive_logon boolean TRUE
SQL> alter system set sec_case_sensitive_logon=false scope=both;
System altered.
SQL> conn test/test;
Connected.
SQL>
